Actual Beatle Chat

Since this is beatlechat.blogspot.com, I might as well post some rare interview material here from time to time.

First up is Camie McKay of Radio Canadian Army Europe chatting with Ringo, Paul, and George during a press conference in Essen, West Germany on June 25th, 1966:

If you have any requests for hard-to-find Beatle interviews, let me know at dinsdalep@aol.com, and I'll do my best to post them here.

  1. We attended that Press Conference - My wife and I conned our way into it and we asked The Fab Four questions (I know the questions we asked) and we were answered - now I see there is an LP of the interviews - but how do I get my hands on it - please? The story of that day is as fresh in my mind today as if it only occurred yesterday. Richard

  2. I don't know where you can get the CD, but I'll post the press conference here on the blog tomorrow and you can leave a comment telling us how you got in and which questions you asked. Deal?

  3. Of Course - here is my email - gaela@eircom.net - if you send me an email I will be able to get back to you with the full story - and it is a saga - The Beatles perormed twice at the Gruge Halle Essen on that day. We paid for one performance but because of one thing and another - we had to go back through the hall to collect our coats from the cloakroom - thereby avoiding being ushered out the exit door to the outside - we stayed and watched he second show for free. It will take about 20 minutes to type up the full story. It was a fantastic day - unbelieveable in today's mad rock'n'roll circus - but back then - possible and well worth the effort - which both my wife and I put into our adventure. Richard
